BYOB, eine Abkürzung für Bring your own Beamer, ist eine Reihe von Videokunst Ausstellungen für die Dauer von einer Nacht. BYOB Nächte wurden bereits in unterschiedlichen Städten Europas und der USA von verschiedenen Veranstaltern kuratiert. Die Künstler werden eingeladen, ihre eigenen Beamer mitzubringen, um somit eine Ausstellung mit einem geringen Budget zu ermöglichen.
BYOB als offenes Ausstellungsformat, hat das Ziel lokale und internationale Künstler in den jeweiligen Städten zusammenzubringen, um die verschiedensten Ausdrucksformen des Mediums Video zu erforschen und diese miteinander in Beziehung zu setzen.
BYOB München Hotel Sahara wird am 30. April in den Kunsthof in der Türkenstraße 78 einziehen. Münchener und internationale Künstler werden für diese eine Nacht im Hotel Sahara absteigen. Diese Gäste sind dazu eingeladen, mit ihren Projektionen diesen temporären Ort überhaupt erst zu erschaffen.

BYOB, an acronym for Bring Your Own Beamer, is a series of one-night exhibitions. BYOB has already taken place in different cities throughout Europe and the US and has been curated by different people all over the world. Artists are invited to bring their own “beamers” and explore the medium of projection, helping this way making a big exhibition with zero budget.
BYOB aims to bring together local and international artists, to explore the medium of projection and its different forms of expression and to create new dialogues.
BYOB Munich Hotel Sahara will open its doors in the Kunsthof in Türkenstraße 78 on the 30th of April. Munich based and international artists will put up at Hotel Sahara for the night. The hotel guests are invited to actually create this temporary space with their projections.
